Muslim Religious Authority congratulates Iraqis on victories over ISIS

 

During Friday’s sermon held at Imam Hussein Shrine on 6 October 2017, Sheikh Abdul-Mehdi El-Kerbela’e, representative of Shia Muslim Supreme Religious Authority, congratulated the Iraqi people on the victories over ISIS in the city of Hewija and the towns surrounding it.

 

He added, “We greatly commend all those who fought ISIS for their sacrifices, and we pray for the martyred, and for the wounded to get recovered soon.”

 

He said further that those who fought ISIS; those who sacrificed themselves to protect Iraq share some characteristics with the companions of Imam Hussein (Peace Be Upon Them).
